We are so pleased you dropped in to visit our site. We want to show off our family, its history, memories, and highlights. We hope you will learn some new things, and share more with us.
Jiwa Mulji Bhatia was born in Modpur, Gujarat, India in approximately 1875.
He was married to Saambai Sharif Kanji.
Jiwa passed away in 1907 in Modpur, Gujarat, India.
Saambai passed away in June 1934 in Nairobi, Kenya.
Jiwa and Saambai had 4 sons, from eldest to youngest:
1) Maherali Jiwa Bhatia
2) Nathoo Jiwa Bhatia
3) Gulamhusein Jiwa Bhatia
4) Noormohamed Jiwa Bhatia
Maherali passed away early, with no wife or children we are aware of. Each of the other 3 migrated to East Africa, and each had 8 children!

The history here is ours. With roots in Gujarat, India, we take pride in what our ancestors were able to accomplish -- how they contributed to what we are today; their hardships and losses; their never giving in or giving up; their resoluteness to go on and build a life for their family -- for us.
Remembering that our mothers struggled to give us birth, in a day and age where each birth was challenging. We share the story of our family, told by each and all of us. Enjoy!
